Questions homeowners ask.

The things people most want to know before they call — answered straight. If yours isn't here, just ring.

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Nick Green is a Certified Texas Master Plumber, licence No. 17508, held since 1989, and Union Jack Plumbing is fully insured. You can verify the licence on the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) roster.
What areas do you serve?
Oak Hill (home base) and much of greater Austin — Bee Cave, Lakeway, Dripping Springs, Circle C, Barton Hills, Manchaca, Buda, Kyle, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Pflugerville and more. If you're in the Austin area and not sure, just ring and ask.
Do I get Nick, or a technician?
Union Jack Plumbing is Nick's company, and he stands behind every job with his name and licence on it. You're dealing with a master plumber — not a call centre and not a rotating cast learning on your pipes.
Will you try to upsell me?
No. It's the thing homeowners mention most in reviews. Nick tells you what you actually need — he's even been known to point people to a free manufacturer part and save them hundreds.
Do you offer free estimates?
Ring and describe the problem, and Nick will tell you how he handles pricing for your particular job before anyone commits to anything. Straight answers, no surprises.
How soon can you come out?
It depends on the day and the job, but Nick returns calls and gives you a straight answer on timing rather than a vague promise. For a burst pipe or gas smell, see the emergency note below.
What should I do in a plumbing emergency?
For a burst pipe, shut off your water at the main and then call. For a gas smell, leave the house, avoid switches and flames, and call your gas utility or 911 from outside first — then a plumber for the repair.
Do you work on older homes?
Very much so — it's a speciality. Decades inside central Austin's older houses mean cast iron, clay lines and quirky layouts are familiar territory, not a nasty surprise.
What kinds of jobs do you take?
Residential repairs and installs: water heaters, leaks and slab leaks, drains, water softeners and filtration, gas and water piping, and kitchen and bath remodel plumbing.
How do I pay?
Nick will confirm accepted payment when you book. No games, no padded bills — a fair price for the work done.
